A Potter Painting

I gave myself a goal to do an illustration every other day. I do the thumbnails and the final drawing the first day and I tone it and color it the next. Here is my first one. I feel like it is unfinished, but my wife says to stick to my goal and move on. If you have any suggestions on how I can finish it please let me know.

I like your goal....sounds like something I should do. Its funny cause I have been listening to harry potter books on tape while I have been working the last couple of weeks. They are so freakin entertaining and make me want to draw a whole slew of harry potter illustrations. Ok my critique is on the background where the floor meets those spiky things, I think it should be fuzzy. It is flattening it out by being sharp. Oh and I like Harry's hands.

I may copy your goal. I really like it, but Harry is sort of floating. Maybe a darker shadow at his feet or something? That's all I can see.

It bothers me a bit that the death eater just under Harry's wand is conveniently squat so you can see most of him just under the glow from the tip... but I'm by no means an artist. I can't help in any meaningful way.
